The Blog Has Landed…Now Here’s What I Got Brewing!

Today is an exciting day for me…and for you! Starting today , I am officially launching my weekly blogs for AnitaAvalos.com! The blogs will post every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, with an eventual evolution to 5 days a week.

Here’s what you can expect. Mondays will be themed “Motivational Monday”. Let’s face it, we all need a nudge on our paths from time to time. On this day, I will post something to inspire you. Whether it’s a quote or info on food safety, these posts will motivate you to keep moving forward on your quest for a healthier, happier life.

Tuesdays will be called “Tasty Tuesday”. These posts will feature anything from a recipe to try, to food product reviews, to healthy restaurant reviews, or even vendors to seek at the local farmer’s markets! Get your taste buds ready and bust out your cutting boards because it’s going down!

Wednesdays will be either be “Workout Wednesday” or “Wellness Wednesday”. On “Workout Wednesdays”, you will find info on where I enjoy breaking a sweat, how I find the time and how to start incorporating these ideas, and what has worked for me. I plan to feature teachers and trainers now and again on these posts to keep it fresh and learn from the experts. I am a Kids’ Yoga Instructor, not a personal trainer . But, as an everyday person, I hope I can inspire you to set and meet realistic fitness goals and HAVE FUN too! For the “Wellness Wednesdays”, I will give you tips on how you can increase your overall sense of wellness and health. The posts may cover anything from green beauty/personal care product reviews to supplements to how to sleep better. These will be little jewels of info that can pay off big!

As you can see, these posts will cover more than just diet. They will cover all aspects of health and happiness because that’s what make Holistic Health Counseling so special; it’s all about the interconnectedness! Let’s take this journey together and have a blast while doing it! And if there are certain areas/topics you would like to see on the blog, please feel free to leave me a comment regarding that and I will do my best to address it on the blogs.

  • Hi Anita! I am just a mom of four from a far away country (the Netherlands), but overhere we have a lot of overweight too (me!)… I try to eat more sensible and even stardet to do yoga. As a gardner, I folow the blog of Mike, and so I found out about yours. It is a nice and exciting blog, thank you for sharing! I specialy liked the articel about the marathon kids. We have a few projects overhere too, as there are also many children with overweight here too. As in our town there is free sport for ones a week where all children between 4 and 12 years old can join after school. (not only an excercise for the body, but also for the mind as there are so many ages that have to work together!) and in april the children in the school that my youngest ones (11 and 6) join, there will be a free fruit (apple, pear or so) for each child to eat three days a week. This program will run for 13 weeks and I am anxious to see if the picky fruiteaters will learn to eat more fruit. At least learn that eating fruit is nice and normal. It’s free as some parents can’t affort fruit. Overhere the unhealthy food is much cheaper than biological food and healthy fruit and vedgetables…probably the same at your place. I am not sure if this fruitprogram brings biological fruit, probably not. It is payed for by the european union.
I also do free sports ones a week at the local centre. It’s a multicultural woman’s group with all woman that live in our neighbourhood between 30 an 85 (this amazing greatgrandmama even swims ones a week; a great motivater for all of us moms!) Also this is not only an exercise program but also a social program and I now found some lovely new friends.
As spring is in the air overhere (now about 7 degrees celcius, no more ice and snow but some days still a polar wind, some days real soft and nice weather), I start to walk a lot more. I also always go by bike as I don’t drive a car. Still, I need to lose about 20 kilo’s of overweight… So I try to get some good ideas overhere and motivation. Thank you for that!
Have a lovely day and greetings from mama lieveheersbeestje.
